Tri-County Educational Service Center acquired the WIA youth program on July 1, 2009
If you are interested in the program, please read the Home page to see what services we offer. Then go to the Am I right for the WIA Youth Program? page and also the Am I Eligible? page. If you believe you are a good fit for our program then follow the instructions on the Application page to download the Ashland Program Application. Fill out the application and mail it to Jeff Styer at Tri-County ESC, or click on the contact page for Ashland County WIA staff names and cell numbers.
Once we receive your application and determine whether or not you are eligible we will contact you regarding enrolling into our program.
Paid Work experience
- Exposes youth to the requirements of work and employers’ expectations
- Short term – no more than 480 hours.
- Paid Minimum wage
- Adheres to Minor Labor Laws
Youth who are eligible for the program are hired and paid by Tri-County ESC
Youth are paid at least minimum wage depending on age
Please note that Tri-County ESC's policy is that all employees are paid through Direct Deposit.
This means you must have a checking or savings account. Some of the local banks only require $1.00 to open an account.
